Rotary in Indonesia
The first Rotary Club in Indonesia was established in 1927. By 1941
there were 26 clubs with 219 members. Rotary activities ceased during
World War II and resumed in 1946. By 1961 there were 17 clubs with
553 members. Rotary activities ceased again during 1961-1970. Since
that time International District 3400 Indonesia has grown to include
70 clubs with 1658 members.
Rotary Club Bali Denpasar, the first Rotary Club
in Bali, was chartered in 1983. Another seven clubs were chartered
during 1987-1996: Bali Sanur, Bali Kuta, Bali Singaraja, Bali Segara,
Bali Taman, Bali Nusa Dua, and Bali Tohpati. Two more clubs have
been chartered since 2001: Bali Ubud and Bali Seminyak.
Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua
Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua was provisionally established in early
1991 and officially chartered on June 30, 1992. Rotary Club Bali
Nusa Dua represents the Nusa Dua hotels resort complex and surrounding
area on the southern tip of the island. The club is one of two in
Bali that uses English as its official language for weekly meetings
(Bali Seminyak is the other). Many Rotarians in this club are foreign
and Indonesian professionals employed in the hotel industry, tourism
and related sectors, representing classifications such as diving,
cruise ships, food processing, hotel management, photography, private
education, restaurant management, spa management and travel agencies.
Other classifications include: agriculture, diplomatic, fashion,
legal and medicine.
We hope that you will find our projects
worthy of your support.
